Thank you for taking the time to read about us.  We have been working within the construction industry for many years as individuals, one can say that we have over 70 years of experience in the field.  On a daily basis we are all looking for opportunities that allow us to grow within our individual avenues of expertise, while at the same time teaching others, and expanding our own personal and professional horizons.  Over time we have come together through regular meetings at various supply outlets and introductions by colleagues within the various trades. Fate seems to have a way of bringing people together with similar goals in life and careers.  As the old saying goes “The cream rises to the top”.  Through such avenues we have been able to assemble a team full of very talented and caring people that are dedicated to their chosen craft.

 I am James E. Marshall, THAT GUY FROM MARS and am proud and pleased to be able to say that I have the greatest bunch of people working with me, not for me. With this unique collaboration of talented people we as a company are able to excel within the Residential Renovation Industry.

 We offer the services of our company knowing full well that all trade disciplines are covered. Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing trades are overseen by fully qualified people that know what they are doing and take pride in their attention to detail and workmanship.  That Guy From Mars retains various degrees of multi-skilled individuals, right from training eager future carpenters, all the way up to having fully qualified Journeymen Red Seal Carpenters.  We believe having employee’s as opposed to sub-trades on a daily basis adds to our abilities to ensure that the overall workmanship and task at hand is completed in the most ethical and professional manor.  No Shortcuts !  When a sub-trade is required for a specialized task, we only use those that we have worked with and personally trust that they will get the job done to MY standards.  
 
 Throughout all the various stages of renovating Tyler Hunt and myself head up the Project Management side of things to ensure that your project will run smoothly from start to finish.  When we collaborate to put your project together, we have the best of many worlds.  I myself have been involved in renovations for over 25 years and typically look after the building, structural, mechanical side of your project, while Tyler ensures the logistical side of ordering materials, researching new products, as well as managing the dollars and cents to ensure you get the best bang for your buck !

 
 In the last decade, television has opened the eyes of many consumers. Shows like Holmes on Homes, Real Reno’s and many others allow a glimpse into the reality of Renovations and the ever changing world there of. In the summer of 2005, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Mike Holmes who has been involved in many renovation based reality shows such as: “Holmes On Homes“, “Holmes Inspection“, “Holmes in New Orleans” and “Lien On Me”.  We met when That Guy From Mars was featured on the local television program “The Big Breakfast” where we were showcasing to the viewers a complete kitchen renovation completed from start to finish by our team of pro‘s. (Check out our Project Galleries to have a look at this project and many, many other‘s we have completed since then). Mike was able to watch our segment and we discussed details of the project, and our Company goals.  He told me, that we “Got it Right”.  Since that time we as a company have continually strived to model ourselves after a similar winning philosophy of “Doing it Right”.
Our first appearance on “The Big Breakfast” was such a success, we were invited to join them again in July of 2006, this time to feature a beautiful bathroom renovation we had completed.  They once again brought their television crews to our jobsite, and filmed start to finish segments to show the quality, and care we take in all of our clients homes throughout their project.
